Date night at Mark's Tokyo

We only just started doing date night recently since we found a babysitter here. Chris booked us into Mark's Tokyo an Italian Japanese fusion restaurant for a Thursday night date night. We did a week night booking because we wanted to sit at the counter and watch Mark cook, weekend nights for the counter are booked out for the next few months and didn't want to wait that long to try Mark's Tokyo. Mark's is located just down the hill from Meguro Station on a small street that actually has some of our favourite expat restaurants such as Locale and Bistro Topology.

From the moment you walk into Mark's you are welcomed by him and one of the staff members. The place is really cosy and the interior architecture of the restaurant is flawless, it's modern and chic - I couldn't fault the design (you can view some great photos of the interior here). There were only 6 of us in the restaurant so it felt very personable with him and also very covid safe.

With every dish Mark explains the ingredients and how it's cook (I loved having him personally serve and and walk us through each dish). It's such a nice touch to be able to watch the chef cook and be able to talk to him. We chose a 5 course menu and had some wine to go with the course as well.

We had a really great time chatting to Mark and even to the other diners, Mark was also recommending all the other places we should try around Meguro. We've lived in Meguro for the last 4 years so it was really nice of him to suggest other places we might not know about.

If your looking for a place to go for date night I highly recommend going to Mark's Tokyo, you can book here. I'm already looking forward to going back again.
