Tokyo Toddler friendly Coffee shops

Updated: Oct 10, 2022

The coffee shops we love in Tokyo, that are mostly baby friendly, or great for takeaway to enjoy at the park!

5 min walk from Nogizaka Station / 7 min walk from Aoyama-Itchome Station or various busses also go here.

Located in Share Green Minami Aoyama this place is one of our weekly hangout spots with our toddler. We love it because we can get a coffee quite early and then let our daughter run around the green space and know it's a safe and contained area. If you are an Aussie you can also get a flat white here! Next to Little Darling is a florist All Good Flowers which we love getting flowers from too. We normally get there around 9:30am and it's never too busy. I haven't tried the food there but it looks great. Feel free to bring a picnic rug so you can set up a nice little area to relax in.

10 min walk from Meguro Station

This is one of our fav local cafes in Tokyo, the coffee and food is amazing. As you can see by the photos my goto in the morning is the avo bagel and at lunch time is the Pakistani Curry. The interior of the cafe is really cool, they have a half pipe in the middle of it which my daughter has enjoyed climbing and sliding all over it. On the weekends they host markets too which can be a mix of second hand goods and other items like hand made goods and flowers. They are baby friendly as in there is enough room for a pram in there but they don't have any high chairs.

2 min walk from Meguro Station

Another great place for coffee - doesn't really work with babies unless you can get the one bench table on the outside. But if you want to grab a take away coffee and you're in the area this place is the best one in Meguro. The food is pretty good - I tend to get the quiche set.

6 min walk from Meguro Station

This hole in the wall coffee shop offers some of the best coffee in Tokyo, it's located in a tiny street right near the Meguro River. So if you are out with your kid it's the perfect place to grab a take away coffee and then walk along the Meguro River. They don't have alternative milks if you can't have dairy - I always order a black coffee because I don't drink normal milk. If you happen to be eating next door at Locale that's where your coffee will come from too.

1 min walk from Naka-meguro Station

This has been one of our favourite coffee spots in Naka-Meguro since we first moved to Tokyo in 2018 and now that we have a daughter the playground next to it is an added bonus. You can read all about the playground in this post here. The coffee here I find the most similar to what I can get back in Sydney, Australia, I've never had a bad coffee here.

3 min walk from Hiro-o Station

I've mentioned Nem Coffee before in my Parks we Love post, it's a great place to grab a coffee from before you head to Arisugawa park Children's Playground. Hidden down a small alleyway across from Arisugawa park right near National Azabu you will find Nem. Sadly I haven't taken any photos inside as they don't like you to take photos but the coffee is great from here.

1 min walk from Meguro Station

Yes I know Starbucks, but we don't go here for the coffee it's more for convenience. This Starbucks right under Meguro Central Square is the perfect spot to hang out when it's raining and you want to get out of the house, it's a big Starbucks with the a cute little play area at the back of it to sit and play with your toddler. As you can see from the photos they have fake grass, some beanbags, a kids table and chair and then some side benches to sit on.

Please feel free to send me any other coffee shops that you've come across in Tokyo that are suitable for kids or have a park right near them so we can get take-away. You can reach out via my contact form or leave a comment on this page! Cheers, Viv
